୨୧ : the bane of emails
Once upon a time, Etsers had been little more than a humble lamia girl named Selytise. She was born in a cave on the outskirts of a villiage, to a mother and a father and several brothers.
Unlike the men of her family, she took an interest in the humans near their villiage. Their fashions, their music, their eccentricities; she wanted to know all of it.
Selytise befriended the youth of her age,and they told of her of a fantastical city where humans, monsters, animals, and any other species could leave in peace and unity; The Night City. So, she took it upon herself to leave, to forge a life for herself amongst all the bounties that the glorious city could offer.
In those early days, she moved in with three other girls; a minotaur, a human, and an elf. All three had difficulty with her name, and so Selytise was dubbed Etsers as an affectionate nickname; one that would follow her.
Etsers began to work at Imperium Inc, a company with horrible DoorGlass reviews but excellent healthcare. She began to thrive, if such a word could be applied, living in her position.
As her wages grew, she eventually managed to rent an apartment to herself-or so she thought. Within the week of moving in, she'd quickly realise there was a colony of rats living with the walls of apartments; most were well behaved, some perhaps more mischievous than the rest. Fortunately, Etsers never had her family's appetite for rodent, and so she struck a deal; if they wished to stay, then they would donate rent when and where they could.
